At the dawn of the twentieth century, it took immense passion to venture into the skies, piloting a wooden and paper aeroplane, armed only with a slide rule. Marcel Dassault’s drive to soar above a war-torn Europe was motivated primarily by a desire to provide his country, scarred by years of conflict, with the means to secure victory in a sky that had become a battlefield of its own.
This new dimension, inspired by the myth of Icarus, offered a space of freedom where anything seemed possible—a space that today extends into outer space and cyberspace, attracting passionate individuals. These exceptional men and women combine the entrepreneurial spirit, the daring of pilots, and the creativity of engineers.
Today, Marcel’s flaming passion continues to inspire the 30,000 employees of the Dassault Group.
