Sport in the City
“Sport dans la Ville” (Sports in the City) association
“Play, Learn, Grow, Find your place:” these are the guiding principles of Sport dans la Ville (Sports in the City), an association founded in 1998 to foster social inclusion through sports for young people aged 6 to 30. Dassault Group has been a partner of the association since 2007, and the two organizations share a number of values, including commitment, team spirit, respect, knowledge dissemination and leadership. Sport dans la Ville implements and operates sports centers in high-priority neighborhoods. Taken together, the programs developed promote social and professional integration for 7,000 young people in neighborhoods identified by the French government as high-priority areas.
Sports programs in the city:
To help every young person find a path to work and fulfillment, Sport dans la Ville created the following programs:
- L dans la Ville to foster emancipation and professional integration for 1,500 girls in the association.
- Job dans la Ville, designed to help 1,600 young people aged 15 and above set goals and achieve professional integration.
- Entrepreneurs dans la Ville, a business creation assistance program that has facilitated the creation of 198 businesses since 2007.
Support from the Dassault Group
Dassault Group supports the growth of Sport dans la Ville and has contributed to funding each of the “Entrepreneurs dans la Ville” (Entrepreneurs in the City) professional campuses. In addition, Dassault employees participate in one of the inter-company events organized by the association: the “Golden Goal” soccer tournament, which takes place one a year in Clairefontaine.
More recently, Dassault Group took park in three major projects that will help more than 3,000 young beneficiaries of the association :
1. Creation of smart sites: “Espace Dassault”
After funding the creation of a first smart site on the association’s Lyon Sports Campus, the Group provided support for the Sport dans la Ville (Jobs in the City) digital center in Pantin, on the outskirts of Paris. This coworking space is dedicated to digital professions and fully equipped with computers, tablets, 3D printers and virtual reality headsets. It accommodates the 1,600 young people participating in the “Job dans la Ville” orientation and professional integration program.
2. Development of a learning support program
The current health crisis is severely exacerbating learning inequalities. To address this challenge, in September 2020 Dassault Group helped Sport dans la Ville launch a new learning support program. Thanks to this initiative, more than 200 junior high school students receive enhanced tutoring, in particular thanks to a loan of digital equipment for daily distance learning.
3. Creation of a Vacation and Training Center
In 2021, Sport dans la Ville plans to launch construction of a Vacation and Training Center. Dassault Group will fund digital facilities for this new project, which will host more than 1,000 young people every year.
Sport dans la Ville is setting an original and constructive example of how to overcome the difficulties facing French society. Creative energy is the common link between Dassault Group and these young people, be they schoolchildren, university students or aspiring entrepreneurs. We are all united in a shared ambition: to move onward and upward, together.
