True to its policy of supporting artistic and cultural initiatives, Dassault Group, a key sponsor of the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie, chose to champion the launch of the “Orsay Grand Ouvert” project.

Dassault Group’s support primarily involves the renovation of the Gallery of Decorative Arts, which will take the name “Galerie Nicole Dassault” upon re-opening in memory of Nicole Dassault, former head of the Friends of the Musée d’Orsay association and devotee of the late 19th century artistic tradition.

“Orsay Grand Ouvert” is a far-reaching transformation project involving significant construction work (particularly on the museum’s historic main building), redistribution of the museum’s collections, an enhanced experience for all museumgoers, as well as programs to encourage research into the impressionist and post-impressionist periods.

Renovation of the Gallery of Decorative Arts will enrich the museum’s Second Empire collections while substantially improving the visitor experience at the Musée d’Orsay.
